Up the Creek by Nicholas Oldland
This picture book has three friends, a beaver, a moose, and a bear that decide to go on a canoe trip. With each decision they face, they disagree, find things are not working, and come up with a solution that moves them forward. Each one sometimes gets their way, so no one friend dominates the decisions. There is humour and a simple but good story. The drawing are simple, but lively and demonstrate the action nicely.
The author is Canadian and has four other books in this series featuring these characters. A good beginner picture book that looks at a very Canadian adventure.
